Privacy policy
Last updated 26 October 2026
RingUp is run by Layertech3dit (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how we look after it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. We don’t sell your information and we don’t show ads.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address and password (stored scrambled, so we can’t read it), and the email addresses of staff you invite.
- Your business details: business name, address, ABN, phone, email, logo, bank details and payment notes you choose to show on invoices, your currency, tax rate and time zone.
- Your sales: the items and prices you add, and the invoices you create, including whether they’re paid.
- Your customers’ details: any name, email address or mobile number you add to an invoice.
- Billing: your subscription status and payment history. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- Technical information: basic logs, like IP addresses and times, that our hosting providers keep to run the service and keep it secure.
How we use it
- to run RingUp for you: saving your sales, creating invoices and showing your totals;
- to send the invoices you ask us to send, and to send you account emails such as sign-up confirmations and staff invites;
- to manage your trial and subscription;
- to keep RingUp secure, fix problems and improve it;
- to reply when you contact us, and to tell you about important changes to RingUp.
We don’t send marketing emails, and we don’t use your customers’ details for anything except sending them your invoices.
Your customers' information
When you add a customer’s details to an invoice, we hold them on your behalf so you can send that invoice. You’re responsible for having their permission. Anyone with an invoice’s link can view that invoice, so only share links with the right person. If one of your customers asks us about their information, we’ll refer them to you and help where we can.
Who we share it with
We use a few trusted companies to run RingUp. They only get what they need to do their job for us:
- Supabase stores your account, business data, invoices and logo. This data is kept in Sydney, Australia.
- Vercel hosts the RingUp website and app, so your information passes through its servers, which may be outside Australia (including the United States).
- Stripe handles subscription payments.
- Resend delivers emails, including invoices you send to customers. It is based in the United States.
Because some of these companies are overseas, your information may be handled in other countries, mainly the United States. We choose providers with strong security and privacy practices. We’ll also share information if the law requires it.
Cookies and your device
We only use the cookies needed to keep you logged in. RingUp also saves a couple of settings on your device, such as your chosen colour theme and whether “Paid now” is ticked on the register. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Keeping it safe
Your information travels over an encrypted connection and each business can only see its own records. Owner-only areas are protected by your PIN. No system is perfectly secure, but if a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we’ll tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open, so your records are there when you need them. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your business data, invoices and logo, except anything we must keep by law (such as records of payments you made to us). Copies in backups are removed as the backups expire.
Seeing, fixing or deleting your information
You can see and update most of your information in the app, and export your invoices at any time. To get a copy of everything we hold about you, correct something, or delete your account, email us at layertech3dit@gmail.com. We’ll reply within 30 days.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please email us first and we’ll try to fix it. If you’re still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll let you know by email or in the app first.
